Carmita Magalhães is a senior perfumer at Firmenich, a leading global fragrance company. Born in France to Portuguese parents, she has lived in Brazil since 1999, where she proudly describes herself as 'Brazilianised French-Portuguese'. Growing up near a forest, Carmita was fascinated by the smells of nature, particularly the scent of trees. Her father, who taught her to recognize aromatic plants, inspired her love for fragrances and led her to pursue a career in perfumery. After five years of training as a perfumer, she joined Firmenich in Brazil, where she creates fragrances that embody freshness, comfort, and sensuality, drawing inspiration from Brazil's natural beauty and diversity. For Carmita, nature is the greatest perfumer of all, and she loves the scent of mint in streams, the fragrance of olive wood, and the smell of basil when it rains.
